Meg Jacobs

Meg Jacobs

Meg Jacobs has been an educator for more than two decades, and has been involved in the UEA for 8 years. She has a B.S. from Central Michigan University with a major in Special Education K-12, and a minor in Elementary Education K-8, all subjects. She has a Master's Degree in Special Education from Kansas State University, and her +15 hours from Marygrove College. Meg has spend the past 23 years as a special education in the following UCS schools:

  • Shelby Junior High
  • Walsh Elementary
  • Burr Elementary
  • West Utica Elementary
  • Malow Junior High

Her school and UEA involvement include serving as:

  • Special Education Curriculum Committee member and Chairperson
  • Central Curriculum Committee member
  • Department Chair as Malow Jr. High
  • Amnesty International Co-Sponsor
  • Union Representative at both Shelby and Malow Jr. High Schools
  • Back-up Team member for the last contract

Meg enjoys being with her family - her husband, Bob (a teacher at Shelby Jr. High who has had experience at the bargaining table himself) and her three children. Meg enjoys traveling and attending CMU football and basketball games. She looks forward to representing her UEA brothers and sisters and to bringing the special educators' concerns to the bargaining table.
