Curt Lange
UEA Executive Director Curt Lange brings a wealth of experience and expertise to negotiations. In fact, he has been involved in the bargaining process for more years than most of our members have been alive. Curt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and his Master of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from Wayne State University. He has been thoroughly immersed in the fields of education and negotiations since 1969, when he began his teaching career at Grosse Pointe North High School. Curt has always been passionate about the bargaining process and has played an integral part in union activities. Curt served as the president of the Grosse Pointe Education Association and successfully negotiated four contracts for Grosse Pointe during the 15 years he spent in that district. He has acted as Uniserv Director for 24 years, servicing the following districts:
- Armada
- Center Line
- Warren Woods
- L'Anse Creuse
- Clintondale
- Harper Woods
- Fraser
- Novi
- Bloomfield Hills
- Royal Oak
- Berkley
Curt bargained the very first contract for the International Academy (an International Baccalaureate School) in Bloomfield Hills prior to its inception in 1995. This was the first such contract in the state. He has led the Utica Education Association through our last 3 negotiations. Clearly, Curt's skill, insight and commitment to our membership will be crucial components of our bargaining process.
